Why You Must Own Pair Of Belts

Men popularly started wearing belts in the 20s, before then, trousers didn’t have belt loops except for that of soldiers.
The belt haven stayed functional for this long, it is now a matter of the style, texture, or color of belt you want or own and not of if you have one.

This flexible band is known as a belt, typically made of cloth or mostly leather has maintained its place in our day-to-day fashion life to the point that most of the clothes we wear today, including, jeans, chinos, suit trousers, coats, gowns, and skirts are made with belt loops. Even when there is no need to wear one. The belt loops are put there especially, on gowns and coats to serve as decorations on the clothes.

One thing I have noticed about the belt loops that I perceive to be a law of the belt and loops are, The belt should be worn on any trousers, coat, or gown that has loops, If you don’t, your outfit will look unfinished.

There are statistics that roughly 40 to 60 million belts are sold every year. That is an idea of how important this item is in our fashion life.

Initially, belts were documented as menswear but for decades coming, the belts are used by men and women depending on the trend or style of clothing.

Here are 2 major factors that must be considered or should be put to mind while choosing your belt.

  1. Colour
The color of your belt is very important in one’s fashion or style. For you to be regarded as well-dressed, your belt should match your shoes.

You can wear a white-collar shirt, ash color trousers, and brown shoes. The combination will definitely look good with a brown belt. Imagine wearing all clothes mentioned with a blue belt. That color choice would have made a total mess of the entire outfit. Hence, choosing your colors is very important and should be done with all sense of art.

  1. Quality
To earn the respect of any human being, you must make them believe you have a standard that is worthy of their respect. However, one of the fundamentals of the standard is originality or quality.

In other words, quality is the foundation of respect. Quality is a necessity without which your outfit can never stand out.

In conclusion, when your belt is of good quality, admirers quickly see how original, fashionable, and expensive you are, and they critically get satisfied with every other thing you have on and that would keep their loyalty for a long time.

You may never know how powerful and symbolic the belt has evolved until you wear the wrong belt and get tolled.
Maybe the symbolism and power of a belt are why wrestlers and boxing champions are still crowned with a color-coded belt to this day. Who knows?

While the belt still maintains its primary function of holding up the trousers it serves as a fashion corrector and decorator.
If there are fashion rules that should not be broken, it would be to always take your belt wearing seriously.

Key-Words To Note:

The skinnier the belt, the more formal it is; the thicker and wider the belt, the more casual it is.

Play around with textures, colors, and fancier buckles for casual outfits only.

Black and brown belts are the most versatile and you should have a pair of each.

Texture and color make more statements of your outfit.
